
Poet and Author
M. Anne Avera is a poet, author, and teacher from Auburn, Alabama. Her work explores themes of the Southern American lifestyle, including aspects of religion, misogyny, poverty, mental health, and addiction.Anne is also an advocate for neurodiversity support and acceptance, and much of her work is inspired by her own experience with autism, bipolar disorder, and ADHD.

A brutal, lyrical, and unflinching exploration of survival, faith, madness, and love, Complete and Total Honesty is a five-part poetic descent into the American South, mental illness, addiction, womanhood, and the sacred violence of becoming.
